ABOUT US
We are a family of skiers and hikers! We first came to Utah from Boston in the early 1990's, and we fell in love with the beautiful mountains, friendly people, and wonderful ski slopes that accommodate all skiing levels and abilities. Since then we have moved to Chicago, but the Wasatch Chalet will forever be the place where we spend our winter holidays and our summer vacations. The kids are mostly grown now and our youngest is in high school, but we still get together in our beloved retreat whenever we get the chance.
THE SLOPES
Snowbird ski resort is six miles up Little Cottonwood Canyon. Snowbird claims to have Utah’s longest ski and ride season, and is usually open from mid-November through May. It also provides multiple summer activities, including a mountain coaster, alpine slide, summer tubing, ropes course, climbing wall and lift-served mountain biking.

Alta is an independent and family-owned ski area since 1938. Nestled at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon deep in the Wasatch mountains, Alta is known around the globe for its powder skiing. With an annual snowfall average of 547” powder days are a way of life here.
